STANDARD TUNING

This tuning service combines the finest in aural tuning with electronic sound analysis to provide the best possible tuning for your piano. 


This service is designed for pianos which are on a regular schedule, typically tuned yearly.

NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE (includes tuning)

$349

This service is specially designed for first-time customers. This appointment allows enough time for a pitch raise or adjustment, fine tuning, and basic repairs/adjustments to keys and pedals. If time allows, the action is lubricated and the action screws are tightened.

Repairs

These are estimated prices based on the most typical issues. There is a 1 hour minimum for any visit that does not include a tuning.

This service may include (according to priority), pitch raise, fine tuning, repairs/adjustments to the action, pedals, and bench, fixing sticky or inoperable keys, tightening of screws, lubrication of action, cleaning, hammer reshaping, and/or voicing.


On this visit, I go through the entire piano to make improvements to both touch and tone.

 Recommended every 5 years. This is a thorough cleaning of the  interior of your upright (vertical) piano, whether spinet, studio, or  full-sized.

 Recommended every 5 years. This is a thorough cleaning of the  inside of your grand piano. This includes the under-string (soundboard)  area.

Informal Evaluation

This is 30 minute visit where I inspect your piano and answer your questions. 

For example;

  • What is my piano worth?
  • How much should I insure it for?
  • Is the piano worth repairing?
  • How much would the repairs cost?

Formal Appraisal

As above, but includes a written report with photos, details, and estimates of current value, replacement value, etc... Most often this is what is needed for insurance, donation, or tax purposes.

Humidity Control

I am a certified installer of Dampp-Chaser products. 

Controlling the humidity level within your piano will keep it in much better tune all year long. These systems will reduce the likelihood of your strings and tuning pins rusting, your soundboard cracking, and will extend the overall life of your piano. 

Digital Player Piano Systems

I am a dealer and certified installer of both Pianodisc and QRS Pnomation player piano systems. I am very experienced with Disklavier too. Send me a message if you'd like to have me;

Restringing

Complete restringing including new tuning pins and plate felts.  

Refinishing

Refinishing includes stripping, sanding, staining, new finish. Includes polishing or replating of hardware. 

Complete Rebuilding

Piano rebuilding is the replacement and/or refurbishing of all parts of the piano. Includes replacement of felts, pins, leathers, hammers in the action. Polishing/replating of hinges, pedals, screws throughout the piano. New  strings, bridge pins, and repairs to cracks in soundboard, possible  soundboard replacement. Refinishing of case and soundboard. Every aspect of the piano is covered. The instrument will be brought back to like-new or often better than new condition.
